The Science Behind Hair Loss
The science behind hair loss is a fascinating subject. First, it’s important to note that hair loss is not uncommon. In fact, it’s the opposite.
By the time men reach age fifty, over half of them will deal with thinning hair. Half! And ten years later, 60% of men will experience hair loss. The majority of men will deal with hair loss in their lives.
And women aren’t left out either. Though women are generally associated with longer, more plentiful hair, by the age of 50, a quarter of women will have visible hair loss. This is an issue that affects a substantial portion of the population, so it’s something that warrants discussion. Once we realize that hair loss, hair thinning, and even balding is a normal biological process, we can work on trying to fix it.
Hair loss is hereditary, so if you have thin hair and your family members do too, that could be a clear sign that everything is normal. Hair thinning can also be a sign of stress.

PRP Hair Restoration
PRP Hair Restoration is a process designed to stimulate hair growth. It’s a three-step procedure that uses platelet-rich plasma to kickstart hair thickening at the source.
After an initial consultation to determine your candidacy, we will ask for a quick, routine blood draw. After we draw the blood, we place it in a centrifuge to extract the plasma. Once we separate that plasma from the blood, we inject it directly into the patient’s scalp. This injection will begin the hair restoration process.
We perform the procedure with two main objectives in mind. PRP is designed to (1) target the hair shaft and thicken it, and (2) send blood to the hair follicle itself to prevent further hair loss.
This is a routine procedure, one that doesn’t require any anesthesia or major downtime. This entire process only takes around an hour to an hour and a half.
