What to Expect
Consultation
At Renew Wellness & Aesthetics, we perform Daxxify® in Oklahoma City after first completing a consultation. An experienced injection consultant will meet with you to go over your goals, skin condition, and medical history. This will allow them to determine the best course of action for your treatment. We have 3 different brands of wrinkle-relaxing injections, so your provider can recommend the ideal injectable for your needs.
Your Appointment
During your Daxxify® appointment, your injector will first examine your face and expressions to decide the number and location of your injections. We will perform your injections with a small, thin needle, and our patients report feeling minimal discomfort. If you’re anxious, we can apply a cream anesthetic to help keep you comfortable. Daxxify® injections generally take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
Next Steps
To ensure optimal results, do not lay down or go in the sun without SPF for at least 4 hours after your treatment. Your provider will go over any additional instructions and answer any questions you have at your appointment, but once your injections are complete, you are welcome to go about your day as usual.
Pre-Care Instructions
- Avoid blood thinning medications such as ibuprofen (e.g. Advil, Motrin) for 3 days before injections. Note: if you’re concerned about pain or bruising, you can take Tylenol before your appointment.
- Avoid alcohol for 2 days prior to injections as this, too, can thin the blood and cause bruising during treatment.
- Consider an arnica supplement in the week leading up to your Daxxify® injections. Arnica helps to reduce pain, swelling, and discoloration from bruises.
- Ensure your skin is properly hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water and caring for it with medical-grade skincare.
Post-Care Instructions:
- Avoid touching or massaging the injection site, as it could move the material to a spot it wasn’t intended to be.
- Keep your head upright for at least 4 hours following treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen when outside, as UV rays can not only damage the skin, but can also disperse the injectable faster, shortening the effects.
- Avoid scrubs, toners, and abrasive cleansers the day of your injections to ensure you do not disrupt the precisely applied Daxxify®.
- Avoid strenuous activity or aerobics for 24 hours after your injections.
