PDO Threads in Oklahoma City

Targeted Collagen Stimulation

Book Now

A treatment that involves placing smooth, absorbable threads underneath your skin, PDO (Polydioxanone) threads stimulate and accelerate the production of your own collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. This delivers long-term benefits to your skin including strengthening, tightening, and plumping, while reducing fine lines and wrinkles. As results appear gradually over the first few months, no one will know you’ve had any work done, and you’ll look refreshed and feel great for your age.

PDO threads involve the placement of smooth, absorbable threads underneath your skin. The threads contain polydioxanone (PDO) which is a biodegradable polymer that is slowly absorbed by your body over time. By stimulating and accelerating your own collagen supplies, the threads provide more facial contouring and improve the quality of your skin to deliver plumper and more youthful complexion.

PDO smooth threads are ideal for anyone looking to improve the quality, tone, and texture of their skin. Treating your skin with the threads while the signs of skin laxity are still mild will thicken, hydrate and strengthen your skin, delivering a smoother, firmer appearance for longer. For this reason, PDO threads are an excellent treatment to combine with others to support your approach to age management.

02

Effective

PDO threads effectively work to stimulate collagen by strengthening sagging skin, improving visible scarring, and providing a natural brightness and glow that lasts for up to 12 months, leaving you looking refreshed and rejuvenated.

03

Versatile

PDO smooth threads are ideal for anyone looking to improve the quality, tone, and texture of their skin. Treating your skin with the threads while the signs of skin laxity are still mild will thicken, hydrate and strengthen your skin, delivering a smoother, firmer appearance for longer. The PDO Threads Process

What to Expect

Consultation

When you visit Renew Wellness & Aesthetics for PDO threads in Oklahoma City, your trained specialist will first conduct a complimentary consultation with you to make sure you are an ideal candidate for PDO threads. We will also discuss your goals in order to provide recommendations for which technique will best meet your needs. Once we complete your consultation, you will know which product(s) we will use and the cost.

PDO Thread Insertion

Your expert injector will numb the treatment area(s) and ensure you are comfortable before beginning the procedure. For accuracy, they will then mark where the injections will go according to your treatment plan. Using a sharp needle or cannula, your injector will strategically and quickly insert the PDO threads under the deep surface skin.

Next Steps

There may be some bruising or swelling immediately following your PDO thread insertion. We will provide detailed aftercare instructions, and you can ask us any questions you may have about caring for your PDO threads. The threads naturally dissolve in the skin in approximately 6-8 months and will be replaced by new collagen and connective tissues.

Pre-Care Instructions:

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you feel the threads?

You should not feel the actual threads under the skin, as they are thinner than a strand of hair.

Are PDO threads painful?

PDO threads are a relatively painless and quick procedure. Patients report a small pinch when the threads are inserted and placed in the treatment area, but there should be no other sensations.

Can the PDO threads break?

After they are inserted, PDO threads cannot break. They will naturally dissolve over time.

How many PDO thread treatments will I need?

The number of treatments recommended by Renew providers will be based on various factors including the patient’s age, collagen levels in the skin, and specific skin concerns and goals. Typically, for patients with more youthful skin and more collagen in the skin, 1 treatment may be sufficient, followed by maintenance once a year. For patients with more mature or damaged skin, up to 3 monthly treatments may be recommended, followed by a maintenance treatment once a year.

What areas can PDO threads treat?

PDO threads can treat the cheeks, forehead, nasolabial folds, lips, crow's feet, jawline, upper lip, and neck.
