Renew Wellness & Aesthetics offers two types of PRP Facials.
The plasma-rich protein (PRP) facial combines plasma and platelets from your blood with other rejuvenation techniques to help minimize facial lines and wrinkles. It triggers collagen production and helps tighten, smooth and improve skin tone. Take it one step further with our Renew PRP Stem Cell Facial.
Our expert professionals at Renew Wellness and Aesthetics will take a small sample of your blood while in office. We will then spin it in an FDA-approved centrifuge to extract the platelet-rich plasma, which is the component of blood rich in growth factors that stimulates collagen production. It is the growth factors in PRP that help the body to heal.
Our expert medical provider will first spread the plasma over your face and then use an FDA-approved microneedling device to help your face absorb the proteins. This can also be done to the neck and décolleté. During the microneedling procedure, the PRP is topically applied to the skin. The PRP can also be injected into problem areas of the skin to create further collagen regenerative and healing.
Finally, Exosomes are applied to the skin to aid in regeneration and an anti-aging cascade of healing. The small channels that were created by microneedling provide a direct pathway to deeper layers of the skin for optimal wound healing. Mirconeedling with PRP and exosomes is the next generation treatment to improve smooth fine lines, scars, wrinkles, and even increase overall rejuvenation of the skin.
Exosomes are at the forefront of a regenerative medicine breakthrough. Exosomes are naturally present in stem cells. They’re essentially the messengers of the stem cell world. Exosomes travel around your body carrying signals from cell to cell and providing status updates.
Scientists have discovered that when a healthy cell sends an exosome to an unhealthy cell, the unhealthy cell can begin to improve and regenerate. Using this basic theory, scientists have found that exosomes are the better alternative to a stem cell therapy to help speed up the regenerative properties that stem cells already possess. Therapy with exosomes can provide a variety of results, including:
BENEFITS OF PRP
Platelet-Rich Plasma contains growth factors which are important for new cell generation and functions, such as creating new collagen and strengthening elastins, and are extremely beneficial to the skin. Microneedling allows for deep penetration of the growth factors and improves the results of the treatment significantly. This procedure is appropriate for those patients looking to:
• Improve fine lines/wrinkles
• improve skin texture/under eye bags
• reduce pore size
• soften acne scars
Most Frequent Questions and Answers
Bruising and inflammation are the most common side effects and tend improve within days following the treatment. It is important to avoid sun exposure, rigorous exercise and saunas for at least 72 hours following the treatment. Retin-A, Retinols, and Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) should be stopped for a week following the treatment and a week prior.
Following a PRP facial, expect to be red for a few days and have a dry face for about a week. Refrain from rigorous exercise for 3 days (including saunas, steam rooms, lasers, etc.) in order to avoid sweating and irritating your skin.
For facial areas with deeper lines and wrinkles, the medical team may also inject hyaluronic acid fillers and Botox®. The fillers help to restore volume that the face loses naturally with age, while Botox keeps facial muscles from contracting. We can use all of these modalities together to treat the whole face.
Prior to a PRP facial, prepare to have your blood drawn by hydrating before the procedure. You can expect some pain and slight post-treatment bruising from the treatment. Ideally, you should refrain from non-steroidal anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen, Advil, and Motrin 48 hours prior to and post-procedure. You should leave the PRP on your face without washing your face for 6-8 hours.
The PRP procedure is safe for almost everyone. The following conditions are contraindications to the treatment: active skin cancer, use of oral corticosteroids in the previous 30 days, severe anemia, those undergoing active chemotherapy, and heavy smokers. Please note that PRP is typically safe 3 months after chemotherapy treatment.
It is recommended to undergo 3-4 treatments about 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. You may also need additional maintenance procedures as time passes.
