Did you know that nearly 50% of Americans are overweight? This is an issue that plagues many people and that can cause serious difficulties in carrying out daily tasks. One solution for weight issues is to head to a weight loss clinic in OKC. Doing so is a great way for you to start taking control of your weight and getting back to a healthy lifestyle. But, a weight loss clinic isn’t right for every person. Med spas like Renew here in Oklahoma City offer alternative treatments for women and men concerned about weight loss that are options to consider.
If you’re unsure if you should see some weight loss doctors in OKC, this guide can help. Here are a few things to know when it comes to seeing professionals for weight loss in OKC.
Before we dive into the ins and outs of weight loss clinics, let’s take a moment to define what these centers are. These clinics, although they sound like the magic potion to curing weight loss, are not automatic weight loss facilities. They may not always be the right fit, depending on your weight loss goals.
When you go to a weight loss clinic, you’ll receive attention from licensed medical professionals who can support you on a healthy journey to losing weight.
Weight loss clinicians provide a variety of treatment options that med spas may not, including counseling, food plans and other specialized nutrition programs.
There are some warning signs that you should be on the lookout for if you’re overweight. Paying attention to these warning signs will help you decide if visiting a medical weight loss clinic is the right choice for you. Some of the most common include difficulty working, pain or discomfort, mental health issues due to excess weight gain, or being at risk for other life-threatening diseases like heart disease or diabetes. When any of these factors are at play, visiting a weight loss clinic may be the solution you need.
However, for others who desire to shed pounds and look and feel their very best, a variety of weight loss treatments are available at Renew Wellness and Aesthetics in Oklahoma City. Renew is not your typical weight loss clinic but does offer a variety of weight loss treatments that can help you achieve your health goals. Additionally, some of these treatments also compliment services offered by traditional weight loss clinics in OKC.

At Renew, we recognize that both men and women may experience weight gain and suffer from hormone imbalance. We offer treatment solutions for this issue.
Many women experience imbalanced levels of the hormones estrogen, testosterone and progesterone as they age. As hormone imbalance takes hold, women may experience troubling symptoms such as insomnia, low energy, anxiety and depression, mood swings, stubborn weight gain, lack of desire for sex and more. As if these frustrating symptoms weren’t bad enough, imbalanced hormones in women may increase the risk of osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, along with other diseases and conditions. For men, we take an integrated approach to treating hormone imbalance. We’ll perform a thorough exam to assess hormone levels and determine what is causing the hormone imbalance (including estrogen, testosterone, thyroid and others). For many men, the natural decline in hormone production is to blame. Other patients may also have difficulty metabolizing hormones or suffer from low thyroid, poor gut health or other ailments. When we think about people worrying about their looks, our minds often first think about women. However, men actually might have more body image issues than our culture makes it appear. In fact, surveys looking at male body image have found that between twenty and forty percent of men weren’t that stoked about their looks. Plastic surgery for men is not uncommon but there are effective and non-invasive alternatives to consider before going under the knife.
In some cases, you might assume that your only option is plastic surgery. Luckily, that’s not the case! At Renew in Oklahoma City, we recognize that looking your best isn’t just about vanity. When you feel you’re looking your best, it can help to boost your confidence, mood and overall well-being.
Are you wondering what alternatives to plastic surgery for men you can find in Oklahoma City? Let’s take a look at some incredible treatments available at Renew Wellness & Aesthetics!
Luckily, there are a number of available alternatives to plastic surgery for men in Oklahoma City. This means that you don’t have to take on many of the more serious risks of cosmetic surgery, but you can still get the benefits of looking and feeling better. Let’s take a look at some popular med spa treatments available for men in OKC.
Are you a healthy eater who works out regularly and yet you still aren’t seeing the results you might like? Do you have a pesky layer of fat that prevents you from seeing the ideal tone and muscle sculpture you desire? Or, maybe you have a bit of a dad bod that you’re looking to improve? It’s certainly super frustrating for men to not see the results they want or changes to their physique! FDA-cleared and non-surgical Emsculpt Neo just might be right to help you achieve the ideal tone and definition you are looking for. Emsculpt Neo is also a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.
Using focused electromagnetic energy, one session of this treatment causes thousands of muscle contractions in your body. These contractions are essential for improving both the strength and the tone of your muscles. It’s an effective way to contour your body without surgery.
Emsculpt Neo has an applicator that emits synchronized Radiofrequncy (RF) and High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic HIFEM energies simultaneously. This allows the muscle temperature to increase quickly by a number of degrees. The muscles are therefore prepared for stress exposure, just like when you warm up before a fitness routine.
The subcutaneous fat reaches temperature levels that cause fat cells to be destroyed and removed from the body. This process is known as apoptosis. Use of this HIFEM+ energy means that your muscle fibers are able to contract at a level of intensity that simply isn’t attainable during a workout.
Emsculpt Neo can cause your muscles to build muscles at a deep tissue level by encouraging your muscles to fire up to 20,000 times. And all of this in just a 30-minute session! This process forces your muscles to adapt to extreme stress. This results in an increase in the growth and number of muscle cells and fibers.
Clinical studies have shown that this Emsculpt Neo process reduces subcutaneous fat by an average of 30% and increases muscle volume by an average of 25%.
If you are looking to lose fat and build muscle, Emsculpt Neo might be a great fit. This treatment can be applied over the arms, abdomen, calves, thighs, and buttocks. As a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, Emsculpt Neo is definitely worth looking into.
Emsculpt Neo treatments occur in 30-minute in-office sessions. This means that you could even get it done on your lunch break!
Commonly, patients will have four separate treatment sessions that are spaced apart by five to ten days. Individuals can get additional treatments depending on their desired result. If you’re looking for additional improvements to other parts of the body, you can also undergo treatment for multiple body areas in the same office visit.
After just one session, the area you treated will feel noticeably tighter. Plus, you don’t have to spend any time in recovery after the treatment. Immediately after you have your Emsculpt Neo session, you can get back to your daily life and activities.
While you might experience some soreness that is comparable to that which you might experience after a tough workout, this treatment otherwise doesn’t interfere with your daily life.
When thinking about plastic surgery for men, often facial reconstruction or a face lift is what many consider. However, skin resurfacing is a treatment that can be used for acne scars, wrinkles, lines, uneven texture, or other phenomena that add to the aged look of your skin. Some of the most commonly treated areas for skin resurfacing are the face, neck, and chest. Our Opus Plasma Laser is also excellent for treating jowls and under your eyes.
Men also commonly treat scars and stretch marks on their bodies with skin resurfacing. We usually recommend that you get one maintenance treatment once a year after an initial series of three to four treatments. Typically, results last for up to one year.
If you’re looking to revitalize and rejuvenate your face without going under the knife, our gentleman’s facial is phenomenal. Whether your skin is dull, dehydrated, sensitive, or congested, we’re here to perform a customized facial that will leave you with the best possible results.
A popular addition to this service is a high-frequency beard treatment. This can help to stimulate hair growth and calm ingrown hairs.
There are countless benefits to facials that can help improve the way you look and feel. It doesn’t just help your skin look better, but it can also help to reduce your stress. Learning how to manage your stress levels is an important aspect of avoiding the outcome of fine lines and wrinkles.
If you feel like it’s time for you to treat yourself to an experience that’s both rejuvenating and restful, a facial might be the perfect thing.
One popular way to rejuvenate your look without undergoing plastic surgery is Botox. It can be injected into both the face and the body in order to temporarily relax the muscles that lead to
wrinkles. This treatment helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles so you can look and feel your best.
Looking for a natural look without having to deal with the appearance of wrinkles? Dysport for men might be just what you’re searching for. This is a prescription injection that helps to smooth frown lines between your eyebrows and other areas of the face without giving you the “frozen look.”
Basically, Dysport decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without in the way of expressing emotions through your facial expressions.
Whether it’s hereditary, a medical condition or a normal part of aging, we understand that hair loss or balding is a concern for men. In Oklahoma City, if you’re a male suffering from hair loss, PRP therapy might be the non-surgical option you’re looking for.
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which is a method that has been found to be very beneficial for both men and women. If you’re looking to stimulate hair growth, this three-step medical treatment helps to trigger and maintain natural hair growth.
During the sessions, an individual’s blood is drawn and processed before being injected into their scalp. It isn’t uncommon for men to combine this approach with other medications or hair loss procedures.
Are you still wondering whether you should go with a hair transplant versus PRP to deal with your hair loss? If so, check out this article that compares a hair transplant to PRP to learn more.
While some men might be looking for a way to increase hair growth on their head, others might want to reduce the amount of hair on their back, abdomen and face.
Laser hair reduction is a non-surgical method for getting rid of unwanted body or facial hair. After a single treatment, most people find that their hair doesn’t regrow for between one and three months or even longer. This treatment targets hair follicles that are growing actively, so several treatments are commonly needed.
When you undergo a number of treatments that are appropriately spaced out from one another, most individuals see a long-term growth delay. Some people require periodic touch-up treatments, while others enjoy permanent hair removal.
After you have had several laser hair reduction treatments, you’ll find that any hair that is remaining will be lighter and finer.
As you can see, there are tons of options when it comes to alternatives to plastic surgery for men. Here at Renew in Oklahoma City, we recognize and understand the unique needs of men and can recommend the appropriate aesthetic treatments to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Many patients want to know the best and most effective procedures for effectively removing or reducing fine lines, blemishes and acne scars on the face. In OKC, chemical peels are performed quite often but alternatives exist including laser skin resurfacing and the use of new, cutting-edge technology with the Opus Plasma treatment. Both chemical peels and Opus are available at Renew Wellness & Aesthetics in Oklahoma City. Here, we’ll cover the differences between laser skin resurfacing vs. chemical peel OKC treatments? Learn which one is right for you.
The purpose of a chemical peel is to remove the damaged layer of skin (epidermis) and reveal fresh new skin by exfoliating the top layers of dead skin cells. Chemical peels are done with either alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), which works as an exfoliant, or beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), which has exfoliating properties. Chemical peels vary in strength, depending on the ingredients used (low-strength to high-strength) and how long the peel is left on the face before neutralizing. Typically, chemical peels are applied at certain intervals, anywhere from one week to four weeks.
The purpose of laser skin resurfacing, also known as dermabrasion, is to remove the top layer of damaged skin (epidermis) to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and overall complexion. The top layer of skin is removed using an automated machine. It cuts away the damaged skin and protects the delicate new skin underneath by shaving off only the top layers of skin.
There are many benefits of laser skin resurfacing. With advancements in technology, lasers are a popular way to rejuvenate the face and neck and remove unwanted fine lines.
Opus is an advanced skin resurfacing solution available in OKC at Renew Wellness & Aesthetics. It uses cutting edge new plasma technology that can effectively remove or reduce fine lines, blemishes and acne scars. The plasma energy penetrates deep into the skin to help stimulate collagen production without harming new cells as traditional lasers can do. It addresses superficial to complex skin quality concerns.
Moreover, with Opus Plasma treatment, only one session may be necessary for rejuvenating the face and neck. It can be done in less than 30 minutes, with optimal results in 2-3 sessions. No hospital stay, anesthesia or downtime. You can resume normal activities immediately. Plus, it offers benefits like:
Opus features a new carbon electrode technology with a plasma-generating anode that delivers a more powerful current to produce a faster cutting action for smoother finishes and greater precision during the resurfacing process.
The Opus technology was first introduced for use in dermatology clinics. Its popularity grew as a result of the outstanding results it produced. The plasma technology is clinically proven to deliver similar results to fractional resurfacing with less discomfort and downtime during treatment with Opus compared to fractional lasers.
An essential requirement for laser resurfacing is the ability to control optical parameters during treatment, such as power density and pulse duration. Different skin conditions require different settings. By choosing Opus technology, expect greater accuracy and the most effective treatment.
The Opus laser uses a carbon electrode as its cathode, which provides greater safety. The plasma beam always prevents the anode from touching the skin, and prevents ionized particles from penetrating deep into the skin and causing damage.
Both procedures work by removing the outermost layer of dead cells on the face, which improves the health and appearance of your skin. Chemical peels rely on specific acids that remove layers of skin to reveal new skin. These chemicals only affect the topmost layers of skin. Opus can penetrate deeper into the skin for more effective results. It removes whole layers of skin, not just the topmost layer, which drastically reduces recovery time and side effects.
Chemical peels are an excellent treatment for rejuvenating older, sun-damaged skin. They are also used for treating fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Chemical peels are also the preferred treatment for melasma, a difficult skin condition that causes dark pigmentation of the skin.
Laser resurfacing is more appropriate for patients with signs of aging, such as deep wrinkles or facial scars. It is also beneficial in treating certain types of acne scars that are not suitable for treatment with chemical peels. Noteworthy, the Opus laser has also proven to work well with ALL skin types. ,
Chemical peels are best suited for fair or lighter skin types. Some chemical peel treatments are most effective when using multiple sessions. Depending on the type of peel, downtime can be none at all to up to 7 days. It can take up to 3 weeks for patients to notice the final results of the chemical peel treatment.
Opus laser is effective and proven safe with ALL skin types. That is one of the reasons why this laser is so popular among providers and patients at Renew.
We recommend Opus as the best and safest alternative to traditional laser skin resurfacing or a chemical peel depending your skin condition and aesthetic goals. Schedule a free consultation with Renew Wellness & Aesthetics to discuss your skin type and treatment options.
Are you tired of those growing bags under your eyes? Millions of people all around the world struggle with looking in the mirror and focusing on the bags, wrinkles and shadows that are often signs of aging. But the good news is: you don’t need to live with unwanted under-eye bags anymore.
With tear trough filler, you can make your eyes shine like never before. Not sure what it’s all about? Keep reading to find out how we can brighten up your life!
A tear trough is a deep crease under the eyelid that causes the dark bags and shadows we see in the mirror. Sometimes, these tear troughs are inherited genetically, while others come through age or insufficient skincare.
The skin under the eyelid thins as you age. The muscles are no longer able to hold up the skin and fat as well as they used to. Furthermore, the collagen and elastin levels in our skin decrease with age too. This decrease not only causes the bags under eyes but also under-eye wrinkles too.
Over time, the mixture of muscle thinning, collagen, and elastin decreases, which causes tear troughs and wrinkles to form.
Besides aging, life stress and lack of sleep can also cause tear troughs to form. Over time, they get worse if the individual is not adequately taking care of themselves. We all know that sometimes life gets a little hectic and our sleep routines get mixed. With this in mind, it is still vitally important to get the recommended amount of sleep and practice self-care when stressed.
Tear trough fillers are a treatment created to help fix this. It is an injection under the eyes to add volume back to the area. It reduces the tear trough hollowness and fills it so it appears fuller. This is a valuable option for those with severe tear troughs and under-eye wrinkles that are looking for solutions.
This treatment involves injecting a gel primarily made of hyaluronic acid. The most common hyaluronic acid injected into the tear trough at Renew Wellness & Aesthetics is Restylane.
The reason we use this substance is that it is naturally created in the human body, so it binds well as an injected gel. When injected into the body, it promotes fullness and tightens the skin. Hyaluronic acid can be used for other skincare fixes as well. However, be aware of the dangers of using the hyaluronic pen currently marketed or other hyaluronic acid treatments without the supervision of a medical doctor or licensed professional.
While tear trough filler may not last forever, it can last a long-term period of time that can make managing those bags much easier. This means you won’t have to go through the tedious work of covering up the tear troughs every day or applying topical serums religiously. You can have a long-lasting fix that you will love, and it will be more effective than any of those over-the-counter fixes. Most tear trough filler will last up to 12 months.
If you want to know how to combat eye bags, tear trough filler is the way to go.
Let’s talk about the benefits of this treatment and how it can help you today.
It’s no secret that baggy eyes and tear troughs are the results of aging. By getting under-eye filler, you will naturally appear younger. Renew is committed to helping our patients achieve a natural look when it comes to their beauty and aesthetic goals.
When you look in the mirror, you can feel good about yourself and your age by not honing in on bags and wrinkles under your eyes.
As mentioned, tear trough fillers aren’t a permanent fix, but they will last you a while. Patients can go from 6 months to a year without needing to get another injection! This means you can enjoy the long-lasting effects without worrying about when you need to get it done again.
Every individual body is different, however, so it is important to realize that the length of time it works for one person may not be the same as you. That is why the range is bigger, because different people may experience results for different time lengths.
Skin moisturizers or topical solutions take awhile to work. With tear trough fillers, you get an immediate result and don’t need to worry about taking awhile to recover! Since this is not a surgical treatment, you won’t need to spend days recovering and taking pain pills.
You can get results immediately and not have to worry about being inconvenienced by recovery time. With any hyaluronic acid filler, bruising and swelling can be a normal side effect, so we recommend getting injected at least 2 weeks prior to any big events.
Many patients ask us if tear trough filler hurts. When you have a tear trough filler treatment, we first use a numbing agent to make the experience much more pleasant and comfortable. This means you will have to endure little to no pain during the process. You’ll come out as beautiful and radiant as ever. Our providers often use a cannula technique for their injections, which means they inject using a blunt tip cannula (not sharp). The injections therefore are safer and cause less bruising.
Perhaps the biggest benefit is that you can say goodbye to those dark bags and pesky wrinkles that have plagued your eyes. Tear trough fillers are a great way to combat eye bags.
Since the treatment uses hyaluronic acid, a natural serum, it will be less invasive and bind beautifully with your body. We always do a consultation with our patient to ensure under-eye filler is the right choice for them. Oftentimes, injecting directly into the tear trough is not recommended, but rather injectable filler may be injected instead into the anterior cheek to help support the tear trough ligament and improve the appearance of tear trough hollowness. Other techniques such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections into the tear trough or laser treatments may be recommended.
It is typically recommended to avoid hyaluronic acid filler in patients with moderate to severe seasonal allergies or those who have natural swelling under their eyes.
Every individual is different, and it is important to recognize that.
Are you ready to enhance your skin and love yourself more achieving a natural, more youthful look? There’s no need to keep waiting; you can get started right now with tear trough filler in OKC!

More than 18 million Americans each year get minimally invasive and surgical cosmetic procedures, and that number only continues to rise. Many people look for ways to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and deal with any sagging or loose skin. Yet, they don’t want to deal with the trauma of a surgical procedure. Laser skin tightening is the answer.
Laser skin tightening procedures that will improve the quality and appearance of your skin. Plus, increase your self-confidence! Whether you’re looking to just tighten your skin or accelerate your weight loss, you have the best option on the market available here at Renew.
In this guide, we’ll go over the V-FORM by Viora available at Renew. We’ll also contrast V-Form with CoolSculpting and truSculpt treatments available elsewhere, so you can decide which is the best treatment option for you.
Laser skin tightening uses lasers to tighten the skin on your body, face or neck. It’s extremely effective in tightening loose or sagging skin. It’s an ideal treatment plan for those seeking to tighten small areas of skin and/or eliminate pockets of fat in a non-invasive, pain-free way.
There may be slight discomfort or sensitivity from the heat during your procedure, but laser skin tightening is basically painless. The heat from the lasers heats up your skin, resulting in the collagen constricting. This makes your skin look firmer and tighter.
No anesthesia is required for laser skin tightening treatments. Plus, you can usually go back to your normal routine right after your procedure. Each treatment takes around 30 to 60 minutes.
V-FORM, offered here at Renew, is the fastest and most effective procedure for skin tightening. It is non-invasive, painless, safe, and a clinically proven treatment for improving the quality of your skin. It is a laser alternative to other skin-tightening procedures available elsewhere.
If you’ve lost a lot of weight over a short period of time from surgery, diet or childbirth, you likely have some loose or sagging skin. This can be discouraging because while you may feel great in your new body, you still have extra skin that doesn’t make you feel in the best shape.
Body contouring with V-FORM can help treat any stretch marks, extra folds and sagging skin that you have after rapid weight loss. It can treat fat accumulation in the underarm area, lower face, flanks or abdomen.
The CORE technology will firm and tighten your skin, leaving you with a smoother appearance. It heats up your skin’s elastin fibers and collagen, causing the fibers to shrink. V-FORM restores your skin’s natural elasticity, giving you smoother and tighter skin.
V-FORM utilizes radiofrequency energy and a vacuum to help reduce cellulite and provide body contouring treatments. The technology targets fat pockets throughout the body to increase metabolism and reduce fat cell volume. These two aspects work together to increase lymphatic drainage and local blood circulation.
V-FORM is one of the fastest treatments available for skin tightening. Depending upon the area of the body being targeted, your body fat can be reduced in as little as five sessions. Schedule a consult and Dr. Julie Shelley or Nurse Jessie Hammock can give you more targeted information.
One of the best things about V-FORM is there is no downtime after a procedure. You can immediately return to your daily lifestyle after your treatments. Also, no anesthesia is required to undergo treatments.
At Renew, we will personalize your treatment plan to your specifications. V-FORM is also faster than other skin tightening procedures. You can fit a 20-30 minute session into your lunch break.
Change the way you feel about yourself by improving the quality of your skin with V-FORM. This risk-free procedure will make all the difference in how you look, improving your self-confidence.
Another nonsurgical and noninvasive option for body contouring is CoolSculpting. Unlike Viora that is a cutting-edge laser treatment, CoolSculpting places the body’s fat between two panels that cool it to a freezing temperature.
The dead and frozen fat cells are excreted from the body via the liver during several weeks of CoolSculpting treatments. You will experience the full results within three months.
For each area you want to target, it will take up to one hour. Coolsculpting takes twice as long as V-FORM body contouring treatments available at Renew.
Additionally, unlike Viora treatments, you may experience some pain, aching, or stinging for up to two weeks after a CoolSculpting treatment. You may also have bruising, swelling or skin sensitivity for a short amount of time with Coolsculpting.
truSculpt uses heat to melt your fat cells and contour your body. It utilizes monopolar radiofrequency to heat up the fat cells, causing them to die off and be eliminated by your body.
With truSculpt, the full impact of the procedure will hit around 12 weeks. You may experience some sensitivity and redness after your treatment.
truSculpt is designed for people who have small problem areas of fat, not those who seek a major fat reduction. It’s supposed to give people the finishing touches after they’ve used diet and exercise to lose weight.
While there are several non-invasive procedures out there that work to eliminate fat and tighten skin, V-FORM by Viora is the best laser skin tightening treatment available. It works for all skin types and areas of the body. See results right away with V-FORM.

This cosmetic treatment stimulates new collagen production by rolling tiny needles over the surface of your skin and applying platelets from your blood. It is also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy. It is a very effective treatment to minimize the signs of aging. Additionally, it can also be effective in treating scarring from acne or certain forms of hyperpigmentation.
PRP (i.e., Platelet Rich Plasma) is plasma derived from your own blood that has a higher concentration of platelets than other parts of the blood. A syringe of blood will be drawn typically from your arm and then put into a centrifuge to separate the plasma from other parts of the blood. Because platelets help with healing due to growth factors and proteins found in the platelets, adding PRP makes the microneedling treatment much more effective.
Although this is one of those cosmetic treatments that sounds a little strange to some, the results are great for someone that wants a minimally invasive treatment option for their skin’s hyperpigmentation, scarring, or wrinkles.
The provider will use a microneedling tool such as the SkinPen to gently roll over and prick the top layer of your skin. This will create tiny holes in your skin through which the provider can apply the PRP.
When the provider adds the PRP, your collagen production and healing process should increase.
Microneedling is a pretty painless procedure overall. A topical numbing cream is applied to the area prior to the treatment. You might experience a little discomfort, but avoiding products that make your skin sensitive before the treatment, like exfoliants or acids, can help minimize any pain.
Typically, a series of 3 microneedling treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, is recommended for the best results. For patients suffering from acne scarring, oftentimes 4-6 treatments might be needed.
Our Diamond Glow Facial, which is also known as a hydradermabrasion procedure, helps to exfoliate the outer layer of your skin. Beauty treatments that focus on exfoliation aim to remove surface-level, dull skin cells to reveal fresher skin underneath.
This treatment is different from microdermabrasion because your provider will use a customized solution with oxygen instead of microcrystals.
The results might be similar to microdermabrasion, but hydradermabrasion is also able to hydrate and improve circulation to the skin. After the removal of the dead skin cells, your skin could experience an increase in collagen production as well.
In addition to reducing fine lines and wrinkles, a Diamond Glow facial is also effective in treating hyperpigmentation, pore congestion, sun damage, dryness, oily skin, and uneven skin texture.
The provider will use a diamond tip device to exfoliate, extract, and infuse a customized serum into the skin.
The device used has different treatment tips each designed for a different skin type and texture. A variety of topical solutions will be applied to your skin as well for maximum effectiveness.
The Diamond Glow treatment is not painful and can actually be very relaxing.
To jumpstart your new skin, a series of 3 treatments is recommended 4 weeks apart. For maintenance, we recommend a Diamond Glow every 2 months. However, even just one Diamond Glow facial will rejuvenate your skin for up to 6 weeks!
A chemical peel is a popular treatment for people that are looking for brighter, clearer skin.
Chemical peels are offered at different strength levels, so some treatments can be done quickly when you have a break from work while others may require more recovery time.
Chemical peels are an extremely popular option for any person that wants to get rid of wrinkles, acne scars, or sun damage. They are one of the most effective non-invasive treatments you can get.
Chemical peels use chemicals (mainly acids) to deeply exfoliate your skin.
The acids applied by the provider will remove an even amount of dull, damaged, or dead skin cells across your skin. The types of acids used will be different depending on your skin type, your skin concerns and other factors. Examples of acids used in chemical peels include glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, retinoic acid, and trichloroacetic acid (TCA).
The skin you can see on your face is the epidermis, and the dermis is what sits right underneath it. If you choose a stronger peel, the treatment goes deeper into the skin.
If you opt for a stronger level of chemicals, you could have red or even scabbing skin. We know this sounds scary, but rest assured that it is normal for the stronger treatment levels. Once it heals, you won’t regret it for even a second!
If you decide to choose a lower level of strength, you won’t experience much more than some temporary redness and sensitivity.
The number of chemical peels recommended greatly depends on the skin concern being treated. Light chemical peels can typically be performed once a month. For acne-prone patients, light chemical peels may be recommended even as frequently as every 1-2 weeks until the desired treatment outcome is reached.
Medium strength peels can be performed every 4-6 months, or 2-3 times per year. Deep chemical peels are typically recommended once every 1-3 years.
These are a popular type of dermal fillers that reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Because hyaluronic acid is part of our skin already, the hyaluronic acid in the filler attracts more water to the surface of your skin. This will give your skin a full, plump look that makes you look more youthful!
Hyaluronic acid in any form is important for a hydrated skin complexion, and it is essential for the skin to retain water. As a result, these fillers are useful anywhere on your face.
Beware, however, of the “Hyaluron Pen” as this device is not FDA-approved and can be very unsafe. We have performed correction work for many of our patients after being treated by such a device. This device and several others like it, are being marketed on social media and across the internet as an “innovative” new injection device that can inject hyaluronic acid filler into the skin without using a needle. There are a tremendous amount of Hyaluron Pen gone wrong cases that cause us great concern.
The provider will inject the hyaluronic acid through a needle or a cannula. After the needle or cannula is in the correct skin layer, the provider will simply inject the appropriate amount of the gel into your skin!
A lot of fillers are mixed with lidocaine, so you luckily won’t feel much during the treatment. Topical numbing agents are often used prior to the treatment to increase patient comfort. It can sometimes be a little painful, but that pain doesn’t last long.
Hyaluronic acid filler can last anywhere from 6 months – 2 years, depending on the type of filler and area treated.
Laser skin resurfacing removes skin layers with exact, uniform precision. The new skin cells will form, and they will have a much younger look than the removed layers.
Laser skin resurfacing is a great option if you want a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that targets wrinkles and signs of aging. This treatment can be used around the mouth, eyes, forehead, or your entire face and neck.
If you decide to get your whole face treated, the provider will likely numb the parts of your face that are being treated.
Opus Plasma is a newer type of laser skin resurfacing treatment we offer at Renew Wellness & Aesthetics that utilizes state of the art technology. Because Opus Plasma uses plasma energy instead of light energy (like other lasers including the fraxel laser), it smooths the top surface of the skin and heats the lower layers, causing them to produce more collagen.
The provider will provide the numbing agent as needed, and then move the device over your treatment area. After the treatment, you may need to apply hydrating ointment to help with hydration and healing. You can expect one to two days of a sunburned look but generally can resume normal activities quickly.
We use a topical pharmaceutical numbing cream to alleviate any discomfort. We also adjust settings on the device to alleviate any pain or discomfort. Most patients report minimal pain with Opus Plasma laser.
Unlike a Fraxel laser treatment which can take up to an hour, the Opus Plasma laser treatment only takes about 15 minutes!
We typically recommend a series of three treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart for best results. However, even just one Opus Plasma laser treatment will create beautiful skin rejuvenation results!
You cannot have a list of popular beauty treatments to help you achieve a non-surgical face lift without mentioning Botox and Dysport.
These are some of the most commonly requested treatments, with 7.44 million procedures completed in 2019 alone. Since then, their popularity has only increased!
Botox and Dysport relax your muscles in place to minimize wrinkles and fine lines. Because you aren’t able to use those muscles as you did before the treatment, the wrinkles don’t crease like they usually would.
We have a complete guide to the difference between Botox and Filler to help you determine which one is right for you.
Both of these treatments are injections, so the provider will administer them with a needle. You’ll typically have targeted areas with this treatment, so the provider will focus on those areas.
Some people say that the injection itself feels like a small sting. It is hardly noticeable and goes away as soon as it comes on. After the treatment, you shouldn’t notice any type of pain.
We recommend Botox or Dysport treatments every 3-4 months.
Dealing with skin that doesn’t look its best is worrisome. Luckily, there are treatments available to help you get the skin you’ve been looking for and at Renew, we’re committed to helping our patients achieve a natural look.
If you’re ready for a non-surgical face lift, any of these treatment options may be a good fit for you.

In the past several months, our office has seen a large increase in the number of patients coming to see us for correction work after being injected with the “Hyaluron Pen.” This device, and several others like it, are being marketed on social media and across the internet as an “innovative” new injection device that can “painlessly” inject hyaluronic acid filler into the skin without using a needle. It is commonly being used across our state for lip injections. There are so many Hyaluron Pen gone wrong cases that cause us great concern.
At Renew Wellness & Aesthetics, we pride ourselves on being educated and knowledgeable about the newest aesthetic techniques and treatments. New trends are constantly emerging in the beauty industry. Oftentimes, new treatments lack evidence to support their safety or efficacy. I firmly believe in sharing knowledge with our patients to help everyone make safe and informed decisions about their health and aesthetic treatments.
The Hyaluron Pen (also known as hyaluronic acid pen) is a small handheld medical device that is used to administer hyaluronic acid fillers into the face. This “pen” was originally created for diabetic patients to offer a needle-free, pain-free way to deliver insulin into the subcutaneous tissue.
The Hyaluron Pen works by creating enough pressure external to the tissue to “push” hyaluronic acid filler into the skin without using a needle. In Oklahoma, it is most commonly being used for lip injections.
No.
The Hyaluron Pen is currently NOT FDA-approved in the United States. In fact, it is currently being marketed and sold illegally online. Recently, the Canadian Health Department made a strict warning against the device to its residents, stating that the device may pose health risks.
Potential risks of the Hyaluron Pen include:
In the U.S., no state has publicly commented on these types of devices. Yet, administering medication (no matter the method used) is considered “the practice of medicine.”
Per the American Medical Spa Association, these needle-free injection devices should be treated the same as traditional syringes of filler. In the state of Oklahoma, in order to legally use a Hyaluron Pen, individuals would need to possess the same license required to inject using a needle and syringe. These licensed individuals include: Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants, or Registered Nurses.
Both cannula and needle techniques are proven to be safe injection techniques. Both are FDA-approved in the US. These techniques allow the injector to place fillers in very specific planes and depths of tissue to allow for a desired aesthetic result. There are several brands of Hyaluronic acid fillers in the US. Juvederm and Restylane are two mainstream. Both are available for medical professionals to purchase through licensed pharmaceutical companies. At Renew Wellness & Aesthetics, we ONLY purchase hyaluronic acid filler through these FDA-approved companies.
Hyaluron Pens only “push” a thin hyaluronic acid filler into the superficial layer of tissue where it disperses in a very non-specific way. This makes it more likely to produce an undesired aesthetic result.
Hyaluronic Pen devices are currently being illegally sold and marketed to the public. This “treatment” is often used by unlicensed individuals. We have seen several patients in our office with undesired results from these devices. Patients should be extremely wary about having a treatment performed with one of these devices. Further, you should be aware of the risks associated with the outcome. This device has caused numerous, documented medical issues across the globe.
We strongly recommend only seeing a medical provider who purchases their filler (and all products for that matter!) directly and LEGALLY from pharmaceutical companies that provide FDA- approved products. It may save your face (literally)!
